About David Lee
David Lee Jancha studied at Wabash College before earning his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2007. He completed law school the same year he began his legal career in public service. Those early months shaped the practical side of his work.
He started as an Assistant Public Defender in the 9th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Orlando. The courtroom routine—client interviews, pretrial work, trials—became his daily education. That role exposed him to a wide range of criminal matters and the procedural pace of trial practice.
In 2010 he moved into private practice as a partner at NeJame Law. There he expanded his experience handling criminal defense litigation and client counseling in Florida courts. He spent nearly a decade refining trial strategies, plea negotiations, and evidence work while representing people charged at various levels.
Jancha established Jancha Law, P.A. in 2019. He runs the firm as owner and principal attorney. The firm serves clients across Florida and handles matters that arise in county and circuit courts. Running a small firm meant handling both the legal work and the business side of practice—staffing, scheduling, and case management.
Jancha is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has served on the board of directors for the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and previously served on the board of the Orange County Bar Association’s Criminal Division. Those roles kept him connected to local court developments and to colleagues who practice criminal law in the region.
His courtroom experience covers a range of criminal cases including misdemeanors and felonies. He has handled arraignments, pretrial motions, jury trials, and sentencing hearings. He is comfortable in contested settings and in negotiating resolutions when appropriate. Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and direct with clients in explaining options.
Jancha combines trial experience from the public defender’s office with nearly a decade in private practice and the responsibilities of running his own firm. He is admitted to practice in Florida and maintains an active litigation practice. He operates Jancha Law, P.A., where he represents clients in criminal defense matters across Florida courts.
