About David
David Johnston built a path that crosses law, technology and international business. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from East Carolina University in 1984 and returned to school to receive his J.D. from Campbell University in 1991. Those two degrees set the stage for a career that moves between legal counsel and business development roles.
After law school Johnston spent years working in environments outside a traditional law firm. In the early 2000s he served as legal counsel and in business development for a series of international security companies, including roles at Cameleon International Security (2003), Sabre International Security (2005), and Universal Security (2006). He also worked as business development counsel for American Iraqi Solutions Group in 2006 and held a business development position at SOC International Security in 2009. Those posts involved advice on contracts and operations in complex, cross-border settings.
Johnston has worn several hats. In 2006 he also worked as a broker associate at Harbourtowne Real Estate. Before that, in 1998, he taught in the Adult Continuing Education program at Trident Technical College as an adjunct professor. The mix of teaching, real estate and corporate legal work underscores a practical approach to problem solving across different sectors.
In 2012 Johnston returned to a client-facing law role when he joined George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers as a lawyer. He is licensed to practice in South Carolina. At George Sink he works on matters that bring together his litigation training and experience advising businesses on contracts and risk. Colleagues and clients have noted his habit of breaking complex issues into clear, manageable pieces.
Today Johnston applies years of varied experience to personal injury work at George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers. He draws on a background in technology and international business when assessing evidence and negotiating on behalf of clients. He currently practices at George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers, where he handles personal injury matters.
