About David H.
David H. Pollack's path to the law runs through literature and history. He earned a B.A. in History and Literature from Harvard College in 1985 and then an M.F.A. in English from the University of Michigan in 1989. He returned to legal studies at the University of Miami School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1992.
After law school, Pollack built a practice that touches both state and federal arenas. He is admitted to the Florida bar and to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. His credentials include multiple mediator certifications: he is a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and a Certified Family Mediator through the Florida Supreme Court, and a Certified Mediator for the United States Postal Service.
Those certifications reflect a practice that has included substantial mediation work alongside litigation. Pollack has taken on civil matters that require both courtroom readiness and negotiated resolution. He has served on panels and boards that review municipal and community issues, and he has been active in legal and civic groups in Miami for decades.
Pollack's community involvement extends beyond his law practice. He has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Miami and remains involved with Hands on Miami. He has been connected to Legal Services of Greater Miami since 1999. His civic roles include membership on the City of Coral Gables Trial Board and participation in the Harvard College Schools Committee. He has also held memberships in sections of The Florida Bar, including the Media Law and Maritime Law sections, and in mediation organizations.
His professional base is The Pollack Law Office. From that platform he handles matters that come before Florida state courts and the federal courts to which he is admitted. Colleagues describe a lawyer who mixes practical courtroom experience with mediation credentials. Clients encounter someone versed in procedure and alternative dispute resolution, able to shift between negotiation and formal litigation as a case requires.
Pollack's educational background in the humanities informs a pragmatic approach to legal problems. He writes and speaks plainly about complex issues and often frames disputes in terms that are accessible to nonlawyers. He maintains active ties to local legal aid and civic organizations while practicing from The Pollack Law Office. His current practice centers on civil litigation and mediation in Florida and federal courts.
