About David
David Goodman moved from reporting to the courtroom. He earned a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Samford University in 2002, then a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2008. Those academic choices shaped how he approaches legal work: careful fact-gathering, clear written argument and attention to how a case reads to a judge or jury.
After law school, Goodman entered private practice. He began building courtroom experience and professional connections in Tennessee. Over time he joined local bar and trial organizations, including the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association. Those memberships reflect an interest in trial practice and the procedural side of civil litigation.
Goodman’s journalism background still shows in his work. He tends to frame complex legal issues in plain language. Colleagues say he prepares witnesses with an eye to clarity. He also values the research skills he learned as an undergraduate, translating them to motions, discovery and managing documentary evidence.
He has worked in office settings that handle a range of civil matters. His résumé includes positions at law firms where litigation and client counseling were daily tasks. He kept active in the Nashville legal community through bar association activities. That involvement has given him a steady professional network in the city and across the state.
Goodman’s professional memberships are current and listed publicly. He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association. He also maintains other professional affiliations. Participation in those groups keeps him connected to developments in courtroom procedure, case law and trial practice in Tennessee.
Today Goodman is part of the Morgan & Morgan team. He brings courtroom preparation and an emphasis on clear, concise advocacy to his practice. Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who applies reporting instincts to litigation tasks. He currently practices trial litigation and represents clients in civil matters at Morgan & Morgan.
