About David Daniel

David Daniel Cook earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 2005. He arrived in Dallas with the credential and the kind of curiosity that sends recent graduates into courtrooms and client meetings. The degree marked the start of a steady legal career rather than a sudden rise.

At SMU he completed his Juris Doctor in 2005. The law school years shaped his approach to casework. They also gave him a foundation in legal research and advocacy that he would carry into practice.

After graduation he entered private practice. Over the years he has handled a broad mix of matters, developing practical courtroom experience and hands-on case management skills. He has worked through pleadings, discovery, settlement discussions and trial preparation. Clients and colleagues have seen him handle procedural and strategic tasks alike, from initial intake to the resolution of disputes.

Cook’s work has required both close analysis and steady client communication. He spends time explaining options, evaluating risk, and helping clients weigh the possible outcomes of different paths. He also handles negotiations aimed at resolving matters without trial when that proves appropriate.

His career has unfolded during a period of change in the legal profession. Technology altered document management and research, and practice workflows shifted. He adapted to those shifts in ways that kept cases moving and deadlines met. That practical orientation is a feature of his day-to-day work.

Today he practices at Cook & Gore, PLLC. At the firm he shares responsibility for managing cases and guiding client relationships. He divides his time between preparing filings, advising clients on strategy, and addressing the procedural demands that every contested matter brings. He is part of a small firm environment where attorneys and staff handle many aspects of a case directly.

Outside of court filings and client meetings, he keeps track of changes in statutes and rules that affect ongoing matters. He sees that steady attention to legal detail as part of professional practice rather than a separate task. He currently practices at Cook & Gore, PLLC, where his practice focuses on client representation and case management in private practice.
