About David

David Colt earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2003 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1990. He entered the profession at a time when the practice of law was rapidly changing. Those early years of study and transition shaped how he approaches cases and client work.

Shortly after law school, Colt began practicing as a lawyer and established Colt Law Office, PC in 2003. He has operated the firm since then. Building a solo or small-firm practice required handling a wide range of tasks beyond courtroom work. He developed skills in case preparation, client counseling, and litigation management.

Colt is admitted to practice before Colorado courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the State of Colorado. He maintains membership in the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. That affiliation aligns with a practice that regularly involves litigation and courtroom advocacy in both state and federal settings.

His office is located in the Cherry Creek area. From that base he represents clients in matters that proceed in Colorado’s state courts and in the federal courts that serve the district. He handles filings, hearings, and trials when cases require that trajectory. He is experienced in seeing matters through from initial consultation to resolution, whether by negotiation or trial.

Colt’s work reflects a steady practice rather than public-facing headline cases. He manages client relationships and procedural demands typical of civil litigation. Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as pragmatic in court and thorough in preparation. He favors clear communication with clients and a straightforward presentation of options.

In day-to-day practice he balances casework, court appearances, and firm management. His professional memberships keep him engaged with developments in trial procedure and civil practice in Colorado. He continues to accept cases through Colt Law Office, PC, and to represent clients in state and federal courts in Colorado.

His current practice centers on representing clients in Colorado state and federal courts.
