About David
David Blaisdell took a direct path into the law. He began studies at Southwestern Law School in 1971 and earned his J.D. in 1974. That early grounding in Los Angeles legal education set the stage for a long career centered in California.
He is licensed to practice in California and has worked in family law for many years. His professional record spans decades of handling the kinds of disputes that shape family life: divorce, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and the division of community and separate property. He has represented clients in both negotiated settlements and contested hearings.
Much of Blaisdell’s work has involved courtroom appearances and negotiation at the settlement table. He has experience drafting agreements, preparing pleadings, and presenting evidence in family court. He also has experience managing case strategy through discovery and motion practice and guiding clients through the procedural steps that lead to resolution.
Outside of individual cases, Blaisdell maintains membership in a professional association. He has kept current on developments in family law and procedure by participating in continuing education and professional activities. That ongoing engagement helps him follow changes in statutes and judicial decisions that affect family law practice in California.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and precise in written work. He tends to take a practical approach to resolving disputes. That means evaluating the legal issues, assessing the practical consequences for clients, and pursuing results that address both legal rights and real-life concerns.
Over the years Blaisdell has handled matters across the spectrum of family law. His caseload has included contested custody battles, high-asset property partitions, enforcement of support orders, and requests for temporary relief. He has worked with clients at different stages of the process, from initial filings through post-judgment enforcement and modification proceedings.
In his current practice he continues to serve clients in California as a family law lawyer, handling divorce, custody, support and property division matters and representing clients in family court and settlement proceedings.
