About David
David Benoit earned his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law after completing a B.A. at the University of Connecticut. He trained in a law school known for its regional ties and practical curriculum. Those formative years set the stage for a practice that crosses state and federal lines.
He is a partner at Aeton Law Partners LLP. His career includes admissions to multiple bars and federal courts. Benoit is admitted in Connecticut and New York, and he has credentials to appear before the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He has been a member of the Connecticut State Bar since 2000 and of the American Bar Association since 2000.
Outside the firm, Benoit maintains an active program of professional involvement. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section, a position he has held since 2013. His memberships include the International Trademark Association and the Intellectual Property Owners Association, reflecting sustained engagement with trademark and broader intellectual property issues. He also belongs to the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals and the Professional Risk Managers International Association, and he is a member of the Connecticut/Western Massachusetts chapter of American Mensa. These affiliations suggest a range of interests that intersect legal, commercial and technical communities.
Colleagues and clients who work with Benoit encounter a lawyer who combines courtroom credentials with trade association involvement. He balances admissions to federal district courts in New York and Connecticut with ongoing service inside state and national professional groups. That combination has guided the kinds of matters he takes on at Aeton Law Partners LLP. He currently concentrates his practice on intellectual property, trademark matters and related commercial legal work.
