About David Aram

David Aram Kaiser is an accomplished appellate attorney based in San Francisco, California. A member of the State Bar of California since 2001, he has dedicated his legal career to focusing on criminal law and appeals. His experience allows him to serve clients throughout the state effectively. In 2001, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, starting his professional journey in the legal field. Before pursuing his law degree, Kaiser cultivated a strong academic background.

He completed a Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1992, which provided him with critical analytical skills. Earlier, in 1984, he earned a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Johns Hopkins University. This rich educational foundation has shaped his work in legal writing and argumentation — As a result, the attorney can craft compelling narratives for his clients. In 2017, Kaiser established his own appellate law practice in San Francisco — This lets the attorney focus exclusively on appellate work.

Prior to this, he gained inexperience serving as a judicial staff attorney at the California Supreme Court from 2006 to 2017. In this role, he provided legal research and analysis to the justices, honing his skills in understanding complex legal issues. His earlier positions included serving as a legal research attorney at the Superior Court of Alameda County from 2004 to 2006 and working as a research attorney for the Judicial Council of California from 2003 to 2004. In addition to his legal practice, Kaiser contributes to the academic community as a Senior Fellow with the California Constitution Center at UC Berkeley School of Law. His involvement in this role allows him to engage with contemporary legal issues and contribute to discussions surrounding constitutional law.

Furthermore, he frequently writes on issues of California law for the Supreme Court of California Blog, sharing insights and analysis with a broader audience. His scholarly work has also been published in the Santa Clara Law Review, reflecting his commitment to advancing legal scholarship. Fluent in both English and German, Kaiser is well-equipped to navigate diverse legal contexts and communicate effectively with many clients. His combination of academic prowess and practical experience positions him as a advocate in the appellate arena. With a focus on delivering justice, he continues to make significant contributions to the field of law in California.
