About Darren Kirk
Darren Kirk Oglesby brings a layered academic background to a steady legal practice in Pennsylvania. He began his higher education with a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989. He stayed at Pittsburgh for an MBA, earned in 1994. Later he returned to the classroom at the University of Nevada–Las Vegas, completing a Master of Education in 2000 and a Juris Doctor in 2003. Those degrees set the stage for a career that crosses business, education and law.
After finishing law school in 2003, Oglesby took a position at Wilder Mahood McKinley & Oglesby. He has practiced law in Pennsylvania since that time. His routine has included courtroom work, client counseling and the paperwork that keeps family and civil matters moving. He is active in the state bar and in local legal circles, which keeps him connected to developments in court rules and practice standards.
He holds current memberships in the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Allegheny County Bar Association. He also belongs to the American Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the ABA. Those group affiliations reflect the areas of law that occupy much of his professional attention. He is listed with public interest groups as well, including the Public Interest Law Association and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Oglesby balances professional memberships with volunteer service. He volunteers with CASA, an organization that advocates for children in the court system. That work places him in front of judges and social workers, and it exposes him to the practical consequences of family law decisions beyond the filings and hearings.
Colleagues describe him as thorough and pragmatic in client meetings. He draws on a mixed academic record that blends business analysis and educational theory with legal training. That combination informs how he approaches case preparation, from evaluating financial evidence to framing issues for a judge.
He continues to practice in Pennsylvania and remains involved in bar activities and community service. His current practice concentrates on family law and civil liberties matters in county and state courts.
