About Darcia Carlette
Darcia Carlette Tudor is an attorney and mediator based in Kirkland, Washington. A member of the Washington State Bar since 1981, she has dedicated her career to family law mediation, forensic reconciliation, and parent coordination therapy. Her experience includes serving as a Title 4, 11, and 26 Guardian ad Litem, appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children in complex family matters. This role has allowed her to develop a understanding of the intricacies involved in family law cases. Ms. Tudor earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Puget Sound Law School in 1981. Shortly after, she began her legal career as a litigator and managing partner at Tudor & Tudor, PS, where she worked from 1985 to 2005.
During this time, she developed her skills in family law, which laid the foundation for her transition into mediation. In 1995, she founded Eastside Mediation & Arbitration, where she serves as President, Mediator, Settlement Master, and Forensic Child Specialist. Her commitment to alternative dispute resolution has significantly impacted families navigating difficult transitions. In 1995, Ms. Tudor obtained her certification in Family Law Mediation, marking a pivotal point in her career. She completed the King County Dispute Resolution Training in 1997, which further equipped her to mediate family law cases effectively. By 1998, she was actively mediating, helping families find amicable solutions to their disputes.
Her educational journey continued when she earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology in 2005, focusing on child development, family systems, psychological assessments, and resiliency in children post-divorce. This advanced training has enriched her mediation practice. This lets the attorney address the emotional and psychological aspects of family law. In addition to her mediation work, Ms. Tudor has contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor in the Family Law Clinic at the University of Washington School of Law from 1999 to 2000. She also served as the Founding Director of the Eastside Legal Assistant Program from 1998 to 2000, demonstrating her commitment to improving access to legal services. Her dedication to her community is further evidenced by her involvement in the Kirkland Rotary Club and her volunteer work as an attorney for Kinship Care, where she represents low-income clients.
