About Danielle N.

Danielle N. Rousset earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and later took her legal training at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she received a J.D. in 2008. Her path to the law included work outside the office, the sort of jobs that teach attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing demands. Those early roles sit alongside a more traditional legal education and practical training.

Her legal experience began in support roles. She worked as a paralegal and as a legal secretary in Madison-area firms in the early 2000s. She spent time as a research assistant for Professor William Birdthistle at Chicago-Kent in 2007, and she held internships and clerk positions during law school, including a judicial internship in Judge David Borowski’s chambers and a clerkship with Liberty Mutual’s insurance defense division.

After passing the bar, she moved into lawyer roles. Records show she worked with Jeffrey Leavell, S.C. beginning in 2009. In 2021 she joined Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown LLP, where she is listed among the firm’s lawyers. That sequence of positions reflects steady movement from support work through legal training to courtroom and office practice.

Rousset is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and in several federal venues. Her admissions include the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and both the Eastern and Western Districts of the U.S. District Court for Wisconsin. Those credentials allow her to handle appeals and civil matters that arise at the trial level in federal court, as well as cases that remain in state court.

Her background includes insurance defense work and civil litigation experience developed through clerkships and private practice. She has handled matters that required research, motion practice, and courtroom appearances. Earlier in her career she also took on roles in office administration and marketing, giving her a broad view of how law offices operate and how cases are prepared behind the scenes.

Colleagues and clients describe Rousset as methodical in her preparation and deliberate in court. She maintains an active courtroom practice through her work at Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown LLP. She handles civil litigation and insurance defense matters at the firm.
