About Danielle
Danielle Curtis graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 2006 and moved quickly into hands-on legal work. She spent her early years in clerkships and in-house roles that exposed her to litigation and insurance defense. Those formative positions shaped the practical side of her legal approach.
After law school she took a clerkship with Maglio, Christopher & Toale in 2007. The following year she worked as a law clerk for Liberty Mutual House Counsel and then for Bachus & Schanker, LLC, where she continued as a post-graduation employee. Those roles gave her experience on both the insurer side and in private practice. They also offered repeated courtroom exposure and briefing responsibilities that would inform her later practice.
By 2012 Curtis became a partner at Curtis Walton Law. Moving into partnership marked a shift from supporting roles to leading files and managing client relationships. As a partner she handled a broad array of trial tasks, from discovery strategy to witness preparation. The role required balancing courtroom work with the administrative demands of running a firm.
Curtis holds admissions in Colorado and to the Tenth Circuit. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Her participation in bar activities dates back more than a decade; she is listed as a member of the Colorado Bar Association beginning in 2011 and again in 2015, and she serves on community committees such as the Junior League’s KOTB Committee, a role she began in 2010. These memberships have kept her engaged with local legal developments and with continuing legal education.
Colleagues describe her work style as steady and detail-oriented. She approaches cases methodically and often emphasizes preparation over improvisation. In courtroom settings she is deliberate; she frames arguments with an eye to the record and to appellate preservation. Her background in house counsel work provides an understanding of how insurers evaluate litigation, while her private practice experience keeps her attuned to client expectations.
Outside the office she remains involved in community groups and bar functions. She balances firm responsibilities with committee work and pro bono opportunities when they arise. Her current practice concentrates on civil litigation in Colorado and appellate matters in the Tenth Circuit.
