About Danielle
Danielle Allison built a career that moves from courtrooms to corporate teams and then into nonprofit leadership. She graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with majors in criminology and English literature, then earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2006. Those academic stops set a steady course for a varied professional life.
Her first post-law-school year was spent in the federal courthouse in northern Alabama, where she clerked for the Honorable U.W. Clemon. That clerkship exposed her to litigation at the trial-court level and gave an early view of how federal judges approach complex motion practice and case management. After the clerkship she entered private practice as an associate at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in 2007, working at a firm known for a broad corporate and litigation practice.
In 2011 Allison moved into a leadership role outside a traditional law firm when she joined Stella & Dot as an Associate Director and Leader. The position broadened her management experience and brought her into a business environment focused on sales, team building, and operational oversight. Five years later she took the helm of Ms. JD as Chief Executive Officer, a role she has held since 2016. In that capacity she has overseen organizational strategy, programming, and outreach aimed at lawyers and law students.
Alongside her professional posts, Allison has remained active in bar and professional organizations. Since 2013 she has served in roles with the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, where she has been a fellow and handled responsibilities on the Corporate Counsel Committee as Programs Chair. She also joined the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division’s Executive Council in 2013, contributing to leadership and programming efforts for early-career lawyers. Those stints reflect years of involvement in governance and professional education rather than a single-track career path.
Colleagues describe Allison as someone who moves comfortably between legal work and organizational leadership. She has experience in federal court, in a large law firm environment, in corporate team leadership, and in nonprofit management. Her résumé shows steady progression from legal clerkship to associate to corporate leader and then to executive director. She remains based in work that connects law practice and professional development. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Ms. JD and continues to lead projects and programs for lawyers and law students.
