About Daniel
Daniel Schwartz built a professional identity at the intersection of law and accounting. He earned a J.D. from the University of Southern California in 2006 after completing undergraduate studies in history at the University of California, Davis. That combination of legal training and a background in the liberal arts shaped an early interest in transactions and financial matters.
His early legal experience included a summer associate position at Kaye Scholer, LLP in 2008. Later that year he joined Rick L. Schwartz, APC as an associate. The move placed him in a smaller firm environment where he could take on a range of responsibilities and gain hands-on experience advising clients. In 2014 he became a shareholder at Schwartz & Schwartz, APC, a role that expanded his responsibilities inside the firm and in client work.
Schwartz holds credentials beyond the bar. He is a certified public accountant through the California State Board of Accountancy and is commissioned as a notary by the California Secretary of State. Those qualifications allow him to approach matters that cross legal and financial lines with a practical perspective. He is licensed to practice law in California.
Colleagues describe him as deliberate in analysis and methodical in preparation. He favors clear explanations over jargon. That approach can be useful whether he is reviewing contracts, advising on regulatory compliance, or addressing tax-related questions that require both legal and accounting review. Over the course of his career he has worked in both large firm and smaller firm settings. The summer stint at Kaye Scholer offered exposure to complex transactional work at a national firm. The years at Rick L. Schwartz, APC and later at Schwartz & Schwartz, APC involved more direct client interaction and management duties. He took on leadership responsibilities after becoming a shareholder, overseeing aspects of casework and contributing to firm administration.
Today he practices at Schwartz & Schwartz, APC. He combines his legal training and CPA credential to handle matters that involve both law and finance, advising clients on issues where the two fields overlap.
