About Daniel R.

Daniel R. Skarie trained in the classroom and in court. He earned a B.A. in English and History from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2007 and completed his law degree at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2014. Those formative years shaped his approach to facts and storytelling, skills he puts to work in litigation.

After law school, Skarie established a practice in Wisconsin. He is licensed to practice in the state and maintains multiple offices across the region. He has been active in professional circles focused on impaired driving defense, holding memberships in the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the National College of DUI Defense since 2015. That involvement signals a sustained engagement with the evolving technical and legal issues that often arise in DUI matters.

Colleagues describe him as methodical. He tends to break complex issues into discrete pieces. In court, he emphasizes clear timelines and forensic detail. Outside hearings, he spends time reviewing reports, police procedures, and instrument calibration records. That work is often painstaking but it can change the course of a case.

Skarie’s practice spans several Wisconsin communities. He maintains offices in Milwaukee, Appleton, West Bend and Germantown. He represents clients in municipal and circuit courts across the state and handles pretrial motion work as well as trial practice. His caseload has included a range of traffic and criminal matters, with repeated involvement in cases that require understanding of breath testing devices, field sobriety testing protocols, and evidentiary challenges.

Education and professional association feed into his day-to-day practice. He attends technical seminars and participates in workshops aimed at defense attorneys handling impaired driving allegations. That continuing training informs how he evaluates reports from law enforcement and how he prepares cross-examination of expert witnesses.

Outside of court, Skarie drafts motions and prepares clients for hearings with straightforward explanations. He seeks to help clients understand the procedural choices they face and the potential consequences of different paths. The work is practical and detail-oriented. He keeps offices in several Wisconsin cities to remain accessible to people in different communities.

He works in Wisconsin courts and continues to handle cases involving impaired driving and related criminal charges. His current practice focuses on DUI defense and traffic-related criminal matters.
