About Daniel R.
Daniel R. Gurtner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Ohio State University in 2003 and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2008. He built his legal foundation soon after law school and has worked in Ohio courts and firms for the better part of two decades. His education combined political theory and economic study, a background he carried into legal practice.
He began his post-law school career as an associate at Aucoin & Younkin, LLC in 2009. That early role exposed him to the day-to-day work of trial-level practice and client counseling. Over time he moved from associate roles into practice leadership. In 2017 he opened Gurtner Law, LLC and acted as managing lawyer. Running a small firm required handling casework and administrative duties, and it gave him an opportunity to shape a local practice on his own terms.
After managing his firm, he returned to associate positions at larger offices. In 2021 he joined Sheppard Law Offices, Co., L.P.A. as an associate. A year later he moved to Parks and Meade, LLC, where he remains on the firm roster. These shifts reflect a career that has ranged between solo practice and collaborative firm environments. He has worked on matters that required courtroom presence and office-based research and drafting.
Across his career he has kept ties to the Ohio legal community. He maintains professional memberships and participates in local legal activities. That engagement has kept him current on changes to Ohio practice rules and local procedure. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation settings and practical in client meetings.
Gurtner’s experience spans roles that require both individual responsibility and teamwork. He has taken on client intake, case development, and courtroom appearances, and he has managed the operational side of a small firm. His work history reflects an attorney comfortable shifting between hands-on casework and the administrative duties of running a practice.
He is licensed to work in Ohio and has made the state the center of his practice. He currently practices at Parks and Meade, LLC, representing clients in Ohio.
