About Daniel
Daniel Moaddel trained first as a historian and political scientist, then as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in history and political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and later completed his J.D. at Southwestern Law School in 2009. Those academic years gave him a background in the sort of context that often shapes criminal cases.
After law school he moved quickly into practice. By 2010 he was the managing lawyer at his own firm, Moaddel Law Office. He built a practice in the Los Angeles area and established an office in Beverly Hills. The early years of a small firm set the tone: hands-on client work, courtroom time, and running the business side of a practice.
Courtroom experience has been a through line in his career. He is admitted to practice in California and has kept membership in professional defense organizations since 2010. That includes the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. It also includes several peer and client-driven recognitions: an AVVO Client's Choice mention, a Super Lawyers Rising Star listing, inclusion among The National Trial Lawyers' Top 100, and an award through Lawyers of Distinction. Those listings appear on his professional record and reflect nominations and selections occurring over the same period he has run his firm.
Colleagues and clients describe his work in practical terms. He handles investigations, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and trials. He spends time on case preparation and evidence review. He has developed familiarity with how local prosecutors and courts operate in the region where he practices.
Running a small firm has required him to combine legal work with management duties. Day-to-day tasks include supervising staff, setting case strategy, and meeting directly with clients. He has maintained an active role in trial litigation rather than limiting the practice to counseling or transactional work. That emphasis places him in court on behalf of clients seeking contested resolution.
Outside of courtroom and office responsibilities he stays connected to professional groups tied to criminal defense. He has sustained those memberships for more than a decade and participates in the kinds of programs and meetings those organizations offer. He continues to operate Moaddel Law Office, APC, out of Beverly Hills. He concentrates on criminal defense and related matters.
