Daniel R. Michel is a personal injury attorney based in Maumee, Ohio, serving clients across Northwest Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and has been practicing law for over two decades. His firm operates multiple offices, including locations in Toledo, Defiance, Wauseon. Napoleon, providing accessible legal services to a broad clientele. Mr. Michel earned his Bachelor of Science in International Business and Economics from Madonna University in 1992.
He then graduated cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1996, where he was an active member of the University of Toledo Law Review, contributing as both an editor and author. Upon obtaining his Juris Doctor, he joined his current firm, focusing on personal injury, business disputes, and domestic relations. Throughout his career, Mr. Michel has been deeply involved in professional organizations. He served as the President of the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ), a state trial lawyers organization advocating for the rights of consumers and injured persons. His leadership roles within the OAJ also included positions on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Editors for the bi-annual journal publication, OHIO TRIAL. Additionally, he has been active with the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), chairing the Negligence Law Committee and a Special Committee on attorney trust fund disbursements (Rule 1.15).
In his practice, Mr. Michel handles many personal injury cases, including those involving animal and dog bites, brain injuries, car accidents, construction accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability, truck accidents, and wrongful death. He is committed to advocating for his clients' rights and has lectured on various legal topics, sharing his expertise with both peers and the public. Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Michel is active in the Northwest Ohio community. He has served as a YMCA Board Member and President, Board Member for the Defiance Area General Health District, Scout leader, and held multiple positions within the Boy Scouts of America Black Swamp Area Council.
