About Daniel
Daniel Lauber practices real estate law in River Forest, Illinois. He has been a lawyer since 1985 and has developed a diverse practice that also includes municipal law. Prior to that, he completed a Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign in 1970. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago in 1966. This educational background provides him with a unique perspective on the intersection of law, urban planning, and community development. Most of his career has been dedicated to public service and education. He served as a Senior Planner and 701 Program Coordinator in the mid-1970s, contributing to various urban development projects. In 1979, he became an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Science, sharing his knowledge with students while also serving as President of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
His lectures often focus on the legal aspects of urban planning, emphasizing the importance of integrating law with effective planning strategies. Daniel has held various leadership roles throughout his career. He has been involved with multiple associations, including the Chicago Bar Association and the American Planning Association. He also served as Chairperson for the American Bar Association. His commitment to legal advocacy is evident through his work with the American Association on Mental Retardation, where he served as Legal Advocacy Vice Chairperson. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Oak Park Regional Housing Center and the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
