Daniel Horowitz is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Horowitz is the lead counsel at Lawyers in Lafayette, a law firm located in Lafayette, California. He has been practicing law for over four decades, serving clients throughout Contra Costa County and the Bay Area.
Mr. Horowitz earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1980. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Hampshire College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976. He also attended Boston University School of Law and Hastings College of the Law, University of California, in 1976 and 1977, respectively. During his time at Southwestern, he was involved in various legal activities and developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy.
Mr. Horowitz concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, and civil litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Horowitz has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the Supreme Court of California. He has represented clients in various jurisdictions, including New York, Wyoming, and internationally in Ukraine, Cyprus, Israel, The Netherlands, and Canada. His extensive experience includes representing high-profile clients such as former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavel Lazarenko and media personalities like talk show host Michael Savage.
Mr. Horowitz is an active member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the Alameda County Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association and the California Public Defenders Association. He is a certified criminal defense specialist through the State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker and an SEC-registered investment advisor associated with Meridian Investment Counsel, Inc.
