About Daniel Ethan
Daniel Ethan Selarz took a pragmatic route into law. He earned a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2009 and a J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 2012. Those years set a pattern: steady preparation, hands-on courtroom exposure and an early interest in complex litigation.
While still in law school he sought courtroom experience. In 2010 he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael A. Latin at the Los Angeles Superior Court. A year later he spent time in the federal system as a judicial extern to the Honorable Otis D. Wright II in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Those placements gave him a close view of evidentiary rulings, motion practice and trial procedures.
After law school Selarz worked in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Complex Litigation Department as a law clerk in 2011. He moved into private practice upon admission to the bar and joined Veatch Carlson LLP in 2012. Two years later he was part of Selarz & Sarbaz LLP. Those years in firms exposed him to both plaintiff and defense work and to the demands of high-stakes civil cases.
Selarz’s professional affiliations map to trial work and consumer representation. He holds memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum since 2018. He is listed among The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40, also since 2018. Locally, he has been a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and Consumer Lawyers of California since 2014. He volunteers time in legal education as well: in 2011 he served as a volunteer judge for the Constitutional Rights Foundation Mock Trial Program.
In practice he has handled complex civil litigation and consumer matters, drawing on his courtroom internships and municipal litigation experience. He maintains involvement in bar and trial organizations that handle both high-value claims and class action matters. He currently practices at Selarz Law Corp., where his caseload includes consumer protection, personal injury and civil litigation. His current practice concentrates on consumer protection, personal injury and civil litigation matters.
