About Daniel
Daniel Dorosin built a foundation in economics at Stanford University before turning to the law. He earned his B.A. in economics in 1982. Four years later he completed his Juris Doctor at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1986. Those years of study shaped a practical approach to legal problems. He combined analytical training with legal doctrine and began a long career in private practice.
After law school Dorosin entered practice in California, where he is admitted to the bar. He joined Fenwick & West LLP and has worked there in the years since. His tenure at the firm has been marked by steady involvement in the kinds of corporate matters that populate a technology and business-focused practice. He has advised clients on transactions and business arrangements, and he has worked on compliance and contractual issues that arise across industries.
Colleagues describe his work as careful and plainspoken. He tends to break complex issues into concrete steps. That approach suits corporate clients, in-house counsel and business owners who need clear legal guidance rather than legalese. He has handled negotiations, drafted agreements and advised on regulatory questions as part of routine representation. He balances practical considerations against legal risk and communicates recommendations in straightforward terms.
Dorosin’s education and long service at a single firm give him institutional perspective. He knows how large law firms operate and how to marshal teams of specialists when matters require it. At the same time he remains attuned to detail. In practice he combines broader strategy with attention to the clauses and processes that determine outcomes. He works across internal firm groups when matters present intellectual property, employment, corporate governance or finance questions.
Outside of client work he participates in the internal life of the firm and mentors younger lawyers. He brings an emphasis on clear writing and careful analysis to training that often focuses on practical skills for transactional practice. He maintains an active caseload and continues to represent clients in California. His current practice centers on advising corporate clients at Fenwick & West LLP in California.
