Daniel A — Schwartz is a partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP, practicing in Hartford and Stamford, Connecticut. He specializes in employment law, representing clients that includes financial services firms, technology companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. His practice encompasses areas such as employment discrimination, wage and hour class actions, restrictive covenants, and trade secrets. Schwartz has extensive litigation experience in both federal and state courts, handling complex employment disputes and commercial litigation matters. Schwartz earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts in Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. The blog was named to the ABA Journal’s Blawg Hall of Fame in 2014 and was selected by the U.S.
Library of Congress for inclusion in its historic collection of internet materials related to legal blogs in 2013. In 2023, Schwartz was inducted into the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, joining a select group of attorneys recognized for sustained outstanding performance in the field. He resides in Avon, Connecticut, with his wife, Carol Shubinski, and their three children. Outside of his professional endeavors, Schwartz enjoys trivia, skiing, golfing, and grilling.
