About Daniel A.
Daniel A. Hatley built his legal foundation in Chapel Hill and then looked outward. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 after spending a year studying Chinese law at Renmin University of China School of Law, where he received a law certificate in 2007. His undergraduate degree in political science came from Bradley University in 2005, and an early teaching assistant role there gave him a taste of mentoring and structured work.
His first legal position followed graduation. In 2008 he joined Stark Law Group as a law clerk and associate lawyer. That role marked the start of courtroom and client work that would later expand across multiple states; he is licensed in Virginia, North Carolina and New York. Before law school he worked outside the legal profession as a special needs provider for the Autism Society of North Carolina in 2006. That experience informed his view of systems and services for individuals who rely on them.
Hatley has alternated between legal practice and roles in business. In 2017 he served as assistant manager and broker assistant for Chanticleer Properties, LLC, a position that complements his standing as a licensed real estate broker under the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Today he lists himself as the managing lawyer at iTicket.law — Powered by Hatley Law Office, overseeing the firm's operations and client services. The managing role reflects his experience of both practicing law and managing transactional or operational matters.
Outside his firm duties he maintains active involvement in bar and community organizations. He sits on the board of Extraordinary Ventures, Inc., and serves on the Human Rights Committee of the Autism Society of North Carolina. He holds membership in the District 15B Criminal Defense Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Those memberships indicate the professional networks he maintains across criminal defense and state-wide bar structures.
Hatley’s background crosses borders and disciplines. Study in China introduced comparative perspectives on law. Experience in property management and a broker’s license add practical knowledge of real estate transactions. Early work supporting individuals with autism contributes a familiarity with service systems and advocacy.
He manages an online legal practice under the iTicket.law banner and continues to practice in multiple jurisdictions. He currently focuses on providing legal services through iTicket.law and on matters that draw on both his legal licenses and his real estate broker credential.
