About Dana K.

Dana K. Smith earned her law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2013. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire in 2009, majoring in English/Journalism and Justice Studies. Those academic years set the stage for a practice centered in New Hampshire.

She began her legal career in 2013 at the Law Office of Paul C. English, where she worked as a lawyer handling day-to-day client matters and courtroom responsibilities. In 2016 she opened and served as managing lawyer of the Law Offices of Dana K. Smith, running a small firm and overseeing intake, case management and client counseling. That same year she also joined Patch, Fitzgerald and Ward, PA as a lawyer, expanding her experience in regional practice settings.

In 2019 Smith moved to Ward Law Group, PLLC as a senior associate lawyer. Her time at Ward Law Group has involved both litigation and administrative work, and her role there marks her most recent firm affiliation. Her résumé shows steady movement between private practice and firm roles, reflecting experience in managing cases and working within larger legal teams.

Smith holds certification as a Justice of the Peace for the State of New Hampshire. She has been active in the New Hampshire Bar Association since 2013, including membership in the association’s Lawyer Referral Service. In 2022 she took on the role of chairman of the Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Committee, a position she continues to hold. That committee work has placed her in regular contact with regulatory developments and practice trends affecting injured workers and employers.

Beyond bar activities, Smith occupies a seat in the USA500 New Hampshire Club’s Young Professional group, beginning in 2022. She served on the Board of Trustees for Kreiva Academy Public Charter School from 2020 until 2022, participating in governance and community education issues during her tenure.

Colleagues describe her as someone who moves between client-facing tasks and committee responsibilities. Her background combines courtroom appearances, case management, and organizational roles in nonprofit and bar association settings. She practices law in New Hampshire and maintains an active role in the state’s workers’ compensation community.

She is currently on the roster at Ward Law Group, PLLC, where her practice focuses on workers’ compensation matters and related workplace disputes.
