About Dan

Dan Adkins has served on the board of the Minnesota Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2010. He remains an active member of that organization and has been involved in its governance for more than a decade. His long tenure on the board places him among the steady voices in Minnesota’s criminal defense community.

His early professional background is threaded through local courtrooms and association meetings. Over the years he has participated in programs aimed at lawyers who defend people accused of crimes. Board service has kept him in regular contact with colleagues across the state and exposed him to a range of trial and appellate issues that practitioners face.

Colleagues describe Adkins as someone who values practical problem solving. He participates in discussions about practice standards and continuing legal education. That involvement has allowed him to contribute to training sessions and panels organized by the association, helping other lawyers understand developments in criminal law and procedure.

Adkins’s work on the board has also put him in a position to observe changes in criminal justice policies and courtroom practice. He has been present for debates about legislative shifts, evidentiary developments, and case law that affects day-to-day defense work. Those experiences inform the perspective he brings to client matters and professional conversations.

In practice he handles criminal defense matters for clients in Minnesota. He represents individuals at various stages of the criminal process and advises on litigation strategy, procedural steps, and courtroom advocacy. He balances case preparation with efforts to keep other lawyers informed through association activities. The combination of practice and professional leadership shapes how he approaches cases and communicates with prosecutors, judges, and peers.

Outside of his association work, Adkins remains engaged in the legal community. He participates in meetings and events that bring together defense attorneys from around the state. As of 2026 he continues to serve on the Minnesota Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers’ board and concentrates his practice on criminal defense in Minnesota.
