About Dale A. Hayes

Dale A. Hayes Jr. studied psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning a B.A. in 1997. He stayed in Las Vegas for law school and received his J.D. from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2001.

His legal career began in private practice. In 2004 he worked as an associate at Marquis & Aurbach. That same year he became an active member of the Nevada State Bar and joined the Clark County Bar Association. Early courtroom work and firm experience shaped his approach to criminal defense and trial practice.

In 2010 he took steps toward running his own practice. He was listed as the owner of DUI Lawyers of Las Vegas and as managing partner of The Hayes Law Office. Those ventures positioned him to handle a higher volume of DUI and criminal matters and to develop trial-ready procedures and team workflows.

By 2020 he was serving as managing partner of Hayes Wakayama. The role expanded his administrative responsibilities while keeping him in the courtroom. He has pursued training intended to support courtroom performance and technical understanding of impaired-driving issues.

Hayes holds several specialized certifications. They include Drug Recognition Expert and standardized field sobriety testing credentials from Impaired Driving Specialists. He is certified on Intoxilyzer 5000 and 8000 operations, and he holds pharmacology-related training from The McShane Firm. Trial and deposition skills certificates from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy appear on his file as well.

He is admitted to practice in Nevada and in federal courts that serve the region. That includes the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, and he is admitted to the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. Professional memberships include the National College for DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Nevada Lawyers for Criminal Justice, and the Nevada Justice Association, with memberships dating from 2009 through the present.

Colleagues describe a lawyer who combines courtroom training and technical certifications to address DUI and criminal-defense matters. He balances case preparation and firm management in his current role. His current practice centers on criminal defense and DUI defense at Hayes Wakayama.
