About Cynthia L.

Cynthia L. Williams built a late but deliberate legal career on a foundation of numbers and law. She earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1979 and followed that with a Master of Science in Business Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1986. Two decades after her first graduate degree she completed her J.D. at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2000.

Her early legal work began immediately after law school. In 2000 she joined Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz PLLC as an associate. The position exposed her to the practical side of tax practice in a firm setting. Three years later she opened her own practice. In 2003 she established The Law Offices of Cynthia L. Williams, PLLC and has operated the firm since then.

Williams is a Board Certified Tax Lawyer through the Texas State Bar. That certification indicates a recognized specialization in tax matters under Texas bar standards. She is licensed to practice in Texas and has handled a range of tax-related questions across individual and business contexts. Her academic background in business taxation informs the technical side of her work.

She has participated in local bar activities. Williams served as president of the Tarrant County Bar Association Legal Line in 2009 and 2010, a role that placed her on the front line of public legal information efforts. She maintains professional memberships in local legal organizations and has been a visible presence in the county bar community.

Colleagues and clients describe her work as methodical. She approaches problems by breaking them into their component parts and addressing each issue in turn. That steady method suits tax matters, which often hinge on documentation and interpretation of statutory rules. She has balanced advisory work with representation, helping clients respond to assessments and plan transactions that take tax consequences into account.

Firm leadership has been part of her résumé for more than two decades. Running a small firm has meant managing client work while overseeing administrative and business operations. The practice has focused on delivering practical legal counsel in areas where tax law intersects with business decisions.

She continues to practice from The Law Offices of Cynthia L. Williams, PLLC. Her current practice centers on tax law matters in Texas.
