About Cristina

Cristina Steele-Kaplan earned her B.A. in English from High Point University before completing her J.D. at North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2001. Her academic background combines liberal arts training with a professional legal education. That mix has shaped a steady trajectory through public-sector and immigration work.

She began her post-law school practice as a law clerk and then lawyer in 2002 at the Law Office of Donald R. Vaughn. In 2005 she moved into a government role, serving as a lawyer-advisor at NASA. The following year she joined the Immigration & Nationality Law Group as an immigration lawyer, taking on matters that required familiarity with both administrative and courtroom procedures.

Steele-Kaplan is licensed to practice in multiple jurisdictions. She is admitted in North Carolina and the District of Columbia and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Those credentials allow her to handle matters that range from agency adjudication to federal appellate filings.

Her engagement with the legal community includes long-standing membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where she has been active in the Denver chapter since 2008. That affiliation has kept her connected to developments in immigration law and to colleagues working across Colorado and beyond.

Over the years she has moved between government and private practice, assembling experience that covers client representation, regulatory issues, and appellate work. Colleagues cite her steady approach to casework and an ability to manage the procedural demands of immigration cases. She has represented clients in administrative settings and in court when matters required litigation or review beyond the agency level.

She maintains an office in Northern Colorado and continues to practice immigration law. Her current practice is based in the Northern Colorado office and centers on immigration matters, including cases that require attention at the agency level and in federal court.
