About Craig

Craig Stewart has built a legal career that moves between public service and defense litigation. He trained at the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law, earning his J.D. in 1996 after completing undergraduate work at Eastern Michigan University, where he received a B.S. in Public Law and Government, with honors, in 1992.

His first significant post-graduate role came in public service. In 1997 he served as an Assistant State Lawyer for Florida’s 5th Judicial Circuit in Ocala. That early prosecutorial work placed him in courtrooms across the circuit and gave him practical experience in trial preparation and state-level practice.

Stewart shifted toward workers’ compensation and defense work at the turn of the century. In 2000 he joined the Law Office of Edward T. Lefever in Ocala as a defense attorney handling work comp matters. Over the next decade he took on positions at several Florida firms, moving between coastal and inland offices and focusing on the insurance-defense side of compensation claims.

In 2006 he held roles at two firms that year. He worked at Harris, Guidi, Rosner & Dunlap in Jacksonville handling workers’ compensation matters, and he also served as a defense lawyer with Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez & Silver with offices in Sarasota and Fort Myers. Those years broadened his exposure to differing regional practices and the variety of administrative and circuit court procedures that govern compensation disputes.

By 2010 Stewart was on the roster at Morgan & Morgan as a lawyer. His career through that period shows a steady emphasis on contested compensation cases and defense litigation. Alongside his firm work, he has maintained professional association ties; records indicate membership in a legal organization beginning in 2007 and continuing to the present.

Colleagues and adversaries alike note his courtroom experience across Florida’s circuits. He has handled matters at both the administrative level and in civil court. His caseload has been defined by repeated work on workers’ compensation defenses and related litigation.

Today Stewart continues to practice law in Florida. He concentrates on workers’ compensation cases and related civil litigation.
