About Cory

Cory Hicks earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1999 after completing a bachelor’s degree in history and religion at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1993. Those classroom years set the foundation for a legal career built around public service and local involvement. His academic background informs how he explains the law to clients and students alike.

Soon after law school, Hicks began practicing in Oklahoma. Early in his professional life he joined the Luther Bohannon Inn of Court for the 2001–2002 term, an experience that placed him alongside judges and fellow practitioners in collegial study and professional development. He later participated in the Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy during 2008–2009, a program designed to prepare lawyers for roles in bar service and community leadership.

Hicks has a steady record of civic and educational roles. From 2008 to 2013 he served as an adjunct professor of business law at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, teaching business-related legal principles to undergraduate students. That classroom role ran alongside an active presence in local civic institutions. He served on the Guymon Chamber of Commerce board of directors from 2008 through 2014, holding both the presidency for two years and the treasurer role for two years, and taking part in the chamber’s budget committee.

Since 2014 Hicks has been involved with the Guymon Ambassadors, an organization focused on community promotion and events. That involvement underscores a long-term engagement with the community where he has practiced. His mix of teaching, bar leadership training, and chamber work illustrates an attorney comfortable in both courtroom and community settings.

Throughout his career he has remained licensed to practice in Oklahoma. His professional activities have ranged from client representation to classroom instruction and organizational governance. Colleagues and students have noted his willingness to explain legal concepts in plain language and to participate in local institutions that shape community life.

Hicks continues to work in Oklahoma, balancing legal practice with periodic teaching and civic participation. He maintains active ties to local organizations while handling the day-to-day matters of his legal work. His current practice concentrates on serving clients in the Oklahoma community where he lives and works.
