About Corrynn
Corrynn Peters earned her law degree from Regent University School of Law in 2003 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Government at Liberty University in 2000. She moved into legal work almost immediately, combining courtroom exposure with research and drafting tasks that shaped her early approach to practice. Her education set a clear path toward litigation and court-based roles.
Peters began her post-law school career in federal chambers. In 2003 she served as a law clerk in the chambers of U.S. Magistrate Judge B. Waugh Crigler. The following year she worked for the chambers of Senior U.S. District Judge James C. Turk. Those clerkships involved motion practice, opinion drafting and managing evidentiary records. She observed judges weigh legal arguments and saw how procedural choices affect case outcomes.
In 2005 Peters moved to the state level as a staff lawyer for the Chesapeake Circuit Court Judges' Chamber. That role placed her in the center of local judicial administration. She handled research, supported calendar management and prepared legal memoranda for trial judges. The experience broadened her practical grasp of trials and court operations.
Her first role in a private firm came in 2006 when she joined Bowman, Green, Hampton & Kelly, PLLC as a lawyer. There she represented clients in civil matters and gained client-facing experience. The work included drafting pleadings, appearing in court and negotiating settlements. Those years sharpened her litigation skills and introduced the business side of legal practice.
In 2010 Peters co-founded Phillips & Peters. As a founder she helped build the firm’s structure, handled client intake and oversaw case strategies. Her background in both federal and state courts informed the firm’s approach to procedural preparation and courtroom presentation. She has maintained memberships in local professional associations and participates in continuing legal education.
Peters practices in Virginia and draws on more than two decades of courtroom and law office experience. She combines the perspective of a former judicial clerk with years spent representing private clients. Her current practice focuses on civil litigation and trial work in Virginia courts.
