Corinne Kaplan is the president and shareholder of Kaplan Law Firm, S.C., based in Mequon, Wisconsin. With over 30 years of legal experience, she has established herself as a leading expert in family law, focusing on divorce, child custody, and support matters. Admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 1984, Ms. Kaplan has dedicated her career to advocating for her clients in complex family law disputes. Her firm is located at 10200 N. Port Washington Road, Suite 100, Mequon, WI 53092, and serves clients across Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Washington, Manitowoc, Waukesha, Milwaukee, and Brown counties. Ms. Kaplan earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Indiana University.
She continued her education at the same institution, obtaining her Juris Doctorate with specialties in taxation and securities. Her diverse educational background provides her with a unique perspective on the legal challenges her clients face. Before founding Kaplan Law Firm, S.C., she worked as an accountant and tax specialist for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. from 1984 to 1986, gaining valuable insights into financial matters that often intersect with family law. Her legal career includes significant roles at various prestigious firms — From 1986 to 1987, she served as an associate attorney at Davis & Kuelthau, S.C. She then transitioned to Kidder, Peabody & Co. as a consultant and registered representative from 1987 to 1989. Following this, she worked as an associate attorney at Starobin & Associates, S.C.
from 1989 to 1990, and later at Lee F. Calvey & Associates, S.C. from 1990 to 1992. In addition to her practice, Ms. Kaplan worked as a mediator and arbitrator for Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Inc. between 1994 and 2000, further enhancing her skills in conflict resolution. Ms. Kaplan's commitment to the legal profession extends beyond her practice.
In 2010, she served as the president of the Ozaukee County Bar Association, demonstrating her leadership within the legal community. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and the Sports Lawyer Association. Her expertise has made her a sought-after speaker at continuing legal education seminars, where she shares her knowledge in business, tax, and family law. In addition to her legal work, Ms. Kaplan has been a dedicated educator for over 28 years at Cardinal Stritch University.
