About Corey
Corey Szalai earned his Bachelor of Arts from Flagler College in 2015 and completed his Juris Doctor at Stetson University College of Law in 2019. He moved through undergraduate and law school in relatively quick succession, leaving campus with both an academic credential and the practical aim of practicing in Florida. Those formative years shaped his approach to legal work: steady, methodical, and centered on clear outcomes for clients.
After law school, Szalai joined The Law Offices of Damian G. Waldman, P.A. as an associate in 2019. He spent the early years of his career working inside an established practice, gaining daily courtroom exposure and the routines of client representation. The associate role was a testing ground for handling filings, research and client communications on active matters. Those tasks helped him find the balance between legal detail and client expectations.
In 2022 he launched his own practice, Corey Szalai Law, PLLC, and took on the role of managing lawyer. Moving from associate to managing lawyer required a shift in priorities. Case work remained important, but so did running a firm: managing calendars, supervising support staff, and making business decisions. Establishing his own office allowed him to shape how services were delivered and how clients were guided through legal processes.
Szalai practices in Florida and has structured his firm to address the kinds of needs that brought him into the law. His background includes hands-on work at a midsize practice and the responsibilities that come with operating a small firm. He has handled litigation tasks and the administrative duties of firm leadership. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in court and direct in client meetings. He combines the routines learned as an associate with the broader responsibilities of a managing lawyer.
He remains based in Florida and continues to build his practice through Corey Szalai Law, PLLC. His current work centers on representing clients across the state from the platform of his own firm.
