About Corey

Corey Mehlos went to Notre Dame for his undergraduate studies and earned a B.A. in the Program of Liberal Studies in 2008. He later attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2014. That combination of a broad liberal-arts foundation and a professional law degree shaped his approach to courtroom work and legal writing.

Mehlos moved into practice in Wisconsin after law school. Early in his career he took leadership roles in local bar organizations. He served as vice president of the Lincoln County Bar Association from 2014 through 2016. He later joined the executive board of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2019. Those positions put him in regular contact with other defense lawyers, prosecutors and judges, and gave him experience on policy and membership matters in the profession.

Over the years Mehlos has maintained an active membership profile. He belongs to the American Bar Association and to the National College for DUI Defense. He is also a member of the Sheboygan County Bar Association and has been involved in statewide criminal defense circles through the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. That network reflects the kinds of cases he handles and the professional communities where he is most often called on for guidance.

His practice centers on criminal defense work. Casework has included DUI-related matters and other criminal charges brought in Wisconsin courts. He represents clients at various stages of criminal proceedings, from initial appearances through trial. Colleagues and court records show him working both in county courthouses and in administrative hearings tied to driving privileges.

Mehlos maintains an office in Plymouth and practices under the name Corey Mehlos, Lawyer. He has represented individuals in both urban and rural parts of the state. He balances courtroom time with client consultations and case preparation, often handling motions, plea negotiations and trials when cases proceed that far. He has stayed involved in bar leadership and defense organizations while running his practice.

He is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and remains active in professional organizations that address criminal and DUI defense. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and DUI defense in Wisconsin.
