About Collin
Collin Evans earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied criminal law before moving on to South Texas College of Law for his J.D. His legal education followed a clear path toward criminal defense and courtroom work. He built his academic foundation around courses and training that fed directly into trial practice and evidence handling.
Evans began his legal career as a law clerk and later a lawyer at Stradley, Chernoff, & Alford in 2008. That early work placed him in the thick of defense preparation and courtroom procedures. In 2012 he opened The Law Office of Collin Evans. He has run his own practice since then, handling cases in state and federal court, including the Southern District of Texas.
Trial work and forensics figure prominently in Evans’s professional profile. From 2012 through 2014 he attended a series of trial-focused seminars and continuing legal education programs. Those included Top Gun DWI, Mastering Scientific Evidence in DWI/DUI Cases, Cross Examining Expert Witnesses, and specialized sessions on DWI blood draws and lab procedures. In 2014 he began attending programs on forensic laboratory accreditation and cross-examination, and on ethical issues surrounding radar testimony. These trainings underline a steady engagement with evidence and expert witness challenges.
Membership in professional organizations has been another constant. Evans holds memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2012. He joined the Harris County Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Fort Bend County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association around the same period. Earlier memberships include the American Bar Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association. He is also listed as a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas since 2013.
Much of his continuing education centers on trial tactics, motions practice, and defending serious charges. He has attended seminars on litigating motions for new trial, defending murder cases, advanced criminal law courses, and trial strategy sessions such as Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College regional seminars. The record of CLE attendance suggests a lawyer who prioritizes courtroom skills and scientific evidence handling.
