About Colleen

Colleen Mriglot earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2017. She earlier completed a B.A. in Criminal Justice at Chapman University in 2008. Those credentials bookend more than two decades of work in and around legal practice, starting long before she took the bar exam.

Her entry into the legal field began in the early 1990s as a paralegal. She worked at Kargianis Watkins Marler in 1993 and later at Heller Wiegenstein in 1997. In the years that followed she served as a paralegal at a number of small firms, including the Law Office of Thomas S. Olmstead in 2005, the Law Office of David P. Horton in 2008, and Sherrard McGonagle Tizzano, P.S. in 2009. In 2001 she took a detour from the legal world and ran Moxie Boutique, Inc., an experience that added business and management perspective to her résumé. She returned to the firm environment and transitioned to practice as a lawyer in 2018 when she joined Sherrard McGonagle Tizzano & Lind.

Her career path reflects steady immersion in litigation support roles followed by the responsibilities of counsel. The progression from paralegal positions to an attorney role at the same firm underscores familiarity with case preparation and courtroom procedures. Her admission to practice in Washington and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington allows her to operate at both state and federal levels.

Mriglot maintains memberships in a variety of professional and community organizations. She belongs to the Kitsap County Bar Association and Washington Women Lawyers. She has been a member of the Washington State Association for Justice and the American Bar Association since 2018. In 2021 she joined the American Association for Justice. She is also active in her local community through the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island, where she has been involved since 2020.

Colleagues describe her as someone who understands the practical mechanics of litigation from the ground up. Her years as a paralegal inform how she prepares files, communicates with clients, and coordinates with experts. She brings that institutional knowledge to the cases she handles at her firm.

She practices at Sherrard McGonagle Tizzano & Lind, representing clients in matters filed in Washington state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
