About Colin

Colin Morrow built his path to law from an earlier interest in the sciences. He studied biology at Reed College, earning a B.A. in 2006, and later turned to legal studies at the University of Maine School of Law, where he received a J.D. in 2012. The shift from biology to law frames much of his early professional story.

After law school, Morrow established his own practice. In 2013 he opened The Law Office of Colin Morrow and began representing clients as a solo practitioner. He handled a range of matters that required attention to technical detail and procedural rigor. The solo office gave him direct responsibility for every aspect of client work and case development.

In 2014 he accepted a board role at Legal Services of Northern California. That position placed him in a governance role within a nonprofit that provides legal assistance to underserved communities. It was a brief, public-facing turn alongside his private practice work.

Three years after starting his firm, Morrow joined Carter Momsen PC in 2016 as a lawyer. The move brought him into a small-firm setting where he collaborated with other attorneys and navigated more complex matters. His time there added experience in working within a team structure and managing cases that required coordination across practices.

In 2020 he became part of Vannucci Momsen Morrow, an association of sole practitioners. The arrangement groups independent lawyers who share administrative resources while maintaining individual practices. Morrow’s role in that association reflects a hybrid approach: independent practice supported by shared firm infrastructure.

Morrow is licensed to practice in California. He is also authorized to appear before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and admitted to practice in the Ninth Circuit. Those credentials signal work that crosses state, federal agency, and appellate practice lines.

Colin Morrow’s career shows a preference for small-practice settings, alternating between independent offices and cooperative arrangements. He has combined solo casework, nonprofit board service, and collaborative firm experience over the last decade. He now practices at Vannucci Momsen Morrow, an association of sole practitioners, handling matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the Ninth Circuit.
