About Cody
Cody Scharpf earned his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 2012. He completed his legal studies at a time when many recent graduates were entering a competitive market. That background informs how he approaches cases today: methodically and with attention to practical outcomes.
After law school, Scharpf took the steps necessary to practice in the Upper Midwest. He is licensed to practice in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. Over the years he has handled matters that cross state lines and involves regional rules and procedures. Working in two jurisdictions has required him to stay current on developments in both states’ courts and bar practices.
Scharpf’s career path has included work inside a firm setting where collaboration matters. He joined Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, where he contributes to the firm’s efforts on behalf of its clients. In that environment he has worked alongside other attorneys on cases that require detailed factual investigation and careful legal analysis. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the way he approaches pleadings, discovery and case strategy.
Clients and other lawyers note that Scharpf values clear communication. He focuses on explaining legal processes in plain language and setting realistic expectations about timing and outcomes. He also places emphasis on thorough preparation. Whether preparing a brief, coordinating deposition schedules or reviewing contractual language, he treats each step as part of a larger strategy.
Outside of courtroom work, Scharpf keeps up with continuing legal education and the evolving practice rules in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. That ongoing attention helps him anticipate procedural changes and adapt practice habits accordingly. He has developed a practice style that balances attention to detail with the need to move matters forward.
Today Scharpf is based at Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben and practices in matters arising in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He remains engaged in the day-to-day work of representing clients in regional matters and handling the procedural and factual complexities such cases often present. His current practice concentrates on matters in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.
