About Clifford
Clifford Whitehead took a conventional path into law and built a steady practice. He earned a B.A. from Boston University in 2006 and continued his studies at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2009. Those years set the foundation for a career that spans state and federal work.
After law school, Whitehead entered practice in Indiana. He is admitted to the Indiana bar and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Over time he has handled matters that require familiarity with both trial and appellate procedures. He has developed an approach that values careful legal analysis and clear courtroom presentation.
Whitehead has remained engaged with the professional community. He maintains current professional memberships and participates in activities that keep him connected to peers across the state. That involvement informs his work and offers regular exposure to evolving legal issues.
His firm experience is anchored at Ziemer, Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders, LLP. There he works alongside colleagues on cases that arise in state courts and in federal appellate settings. His responsibilities include preparing filings, arguing motions, and advising clients on procedural and substantive questions. He moves between drafting briefs and appearing in court, tasks that require both written and oral advocacy.
Colleagues describe Whitehead as methodical in his preparation. He approaches each matter by breaking it into discrete issues and addressing them one at a time. That method can make complex problems more manageable and helps when cases shift suddenly during litigation.
Outside the courtroom he continues to follow changes in case law and procedure. He tracks decisions from Indiana courts and the Seventh Circuit that affect the kinds of matters he handles. That attention helps him shape litigation strategies and advise clients on options and risks.
Today, Whitehead practices at Ziemer, Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders, LLP, where he represents clients in state and federal matters and handles both trial-level filings and appellate work.
