About Clayton R

Clayton R Leonard earned his law degree from the University of Toledo in 2012. He earlier completed a Bachelor of Science at Brigham Young University in 2006 and attended the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Those academic stops shaped a path that moved from broad undergraduate study into professional legal training.

After law school, Leonard established a practice that spans two state jurisdictions. He is licensed in Nevada and in Hawaii. Those admissions have allowed him to work on matters that cross state lines and to advise clients who require counsel in more than one forum.

Leonard’s early professional years were marked by steady development of courtroom and transactional experience. He gained exposure to litigation and client counseling tasks and worked on case preparation, filings, and court appearances. He has been involved in discovery and brief-writing, and has navigated procedural and evidentiary issues in state and federal settings. The work required clear legal writing and direct client communication, skills he continued to cultivate.

Colleagues describe Leonard as pragmatic in the courtroom and methodical in preparation. He takes a practical approach to problem solving and prefers clear options for clients over elaborate theory. That approach shows in how he frames issues and in the way he prepares witness and documentary material. In negotiations, he has focused on achieving defined client goals rather than protracted disputes.

Outside casework, Leonard has maintained professional memberships and ongoing engagement in legal circles since the early 2010s. He has remained current on developments in the law through continuing education and through interactions with peers who practice in similar fields. That ongoing engagement helps him keep pace with changes in procedure and substantive law that affect cases in the states where he is licensed.

He practices at Lee Kiefer & Park. At the firm he represents clients in matters arising in the jurisdictions where he holds admission and handles both litigation and transactional matters as needed. He currently practices at Lee Kiefer & Park, handling matters in Nevada and Hawaii.
