About Claudia Vanessa

Claudia Vanessa Cubias built a legal path that ties classroom study to courtroom work. She earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2019 after studying comparative and international law there. Earlier, she completed a B.S. in Criminal Justice at Texas Wesleyan University in 2014. Those two strands — criminal justice and international law — mark much of her early professional profile.

Her first position after law school was as a lawyer at Jaime Barron PC in 2019. She moved into private practice the following year when she joined Bailey and Galyen as an associate lawyer in 2020. The shift came quickly. The roles show a lawyer who moved straight from academic preparation into practical legal work and has remained in firm practice since.

Cubias’s academic background informs her approach. Her undergraduate degree provided a foundation in criminal justice concepts and procedure. At Saint Louis University School of Law she engaged with comparative approaches to international legal issues. That combination has shaped how she assesses cases and advises clients, especially where domestic concerns intersect with broader legal principles.

Colleagues describe her as methodical and precise in legal research and in preparing filings. She has worked on matters that require careful statutory reading and attention to procedural detail. Her time at Jaime Barron PC gave her early exposure to client representation and courtroom practice, and her years at Bailey and Galyen have expanded that experience in a firm environment.

Outside of casework, Cubias maintains professional memberships. She keeps current with continuing legal education and participates in activities that support practice development and legal competence. She has not taken on public-facing academic roles or published widely, focusing instead on building hands-on experience in firm settings.

Today she is an associate at BAILEY AND GALYEN. Her work draws on both her criminal justice training and her study of comparative international law, and she focuses on matters that reflect those interests in her current practice.
