About Clark D

Clark D Tew built his legal foundation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in American History and Germanic Languages in 2007. He continued his studies at Wake Forest University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 2010. Those academic years combined historical perspective and language study with professional legal training.

After law school, Tew established a practice rooted in the courts where he is admitted to appear. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Supreme Court, and the federal district courts for the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina. Membership in professional organizations has been part of his professional life; he has been a member of the North Carolina Bar Association since 2010 and joined the North Carolina Advocates for Justice in 2016.

Tew’s education and court admissions have shaped a practice that operates across both state and federal forums. His background in American history and Germanic languages informs a careful approach to research and written argument. He has handled filings and appearances in federal district courts and on appeal, working through the procedural demands those venues require.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and straightforward in the courtroom. He often takes on matters that require a detailed review of records and precise legal drafting. Outside of appearances, much of his time is spent on case investigation, motion work, and briefing for trial or appellate submission.

While the public record lists his professional memberships and court admissions, Tew has otherwise kept a low public profile. He does not appear frequently in widely publicized leadership roles or in a steady stream of published commentary, choosing instead to concentrate on casework and courtroom advocacy. That approach has kept his caseload focused on disputes brought in North Carolina courts and federal tribunals covering the state.

He currently focuses his practice on matters arising in North Carolina state and federal courts.
