About Claire
Claire Edwards earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2009. She went on to Southern University Law Center, where she completed her Juris Doctor in 2012. Those academic years shaped a foundation in writing and legal analysis that would inform her decision-making at the bar.
After law school she sat for the Louisiana bar and became a member of the Louisiana Bar Association. Early in her career she chose private practice. In 2013 she opened Claire Edwards Law Office and took on the dual role of owner and lawyer. Setting up her own firm allowed her to manage the business side of practice as well as the work that comes through the door.
Edwards maintains active membership in the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Lafayette Bar Association. She practices under the jurisdiction of Louisiana and represents clients in matters that originate in state courts. Colleagues note her preference for clear, plain writing in briefs and correspondence, a habit that traces back to her undergraduate study of literature.
Her time in private practice has involved the routine tasks of client counseling, pleadings and court appearances. She oversees case intake and file management at her office. Running a small firm means balancing litigation calendars with client development and administrative duties. Those responsibilities shape how she allocates resources and sets priorities for each matter she accepts.
People who work with Edwards often remark on her direct manner and practical approach. She aims to give clients straightforward assessments of legal options and likely outcomes. Outside the office she remains engaged with local bar activities through the associations where she holds membership. She currently practices at Claire Edwards Law Office, representing clients in matters before Louisiana courts.
