About Chuck
Chuck Cochrane began his legal journey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his J.D. in 1978. The degree marked the start of a long career that would span multiple states and a steady involvement in trial and workers' compensation circles. He has practiced law for decades and established his own firm in the mid-1990s.
In 1995 he opened Cochrane Law Office, P.A., and he has maintained ownership since then. The decision to found a solo practice allowed him to shape the kind of cases he handles and the approach he brings to clients. Over time his practice became associated with workplace injury and insurance-related disputes, areas that often demand hands-on litigation and familiarity with administrative processes.
Cochrane is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin and is also authorized to appear before the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that crosses state lines and occasionally touches on federal appellate work. He has been active in local and state bar organizations for many years, which has kept him connected to evolving law and procedure in his areas of practice.
His bar and professional involvement is extensive. He has been a member of the Minnesota Association for Justice since 1986 and has served as co-chair of its Workers Compensation Committee since 2002. He joined the Workplace Injury Litigation Group in 1998. He has participated in Minnesota State Bar Association activities since 1982, including roles as a mock trial judge dating to 1996 and participation in insurance-related committee work beginning in 2005. At the county level he belongs to the Ramsey County Bar Association and has served on its Lawyer Fee Arbitration Committee since 2006. He also holds membership in the Wisconsin Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
Those affiliations reflect steady involvement rather than a string of short-term positions. They suggest an attorney comfortable in the courtroom and in committee rooms, handling contested matters while also contributing to bar governance and dispute resolution processes. His long tenure as a firm owner and his committee work point to a practice shaped by litigation and the procedural quirks of workers' compensation and insurance law.
He maintains an active practice through Cochrane Law Office, P.A. and currently focuses on workers' compensation, workplace injury litigation and related insurance disputes.
