About Christy L.

Christy L. Hertz grew up in Coconut Grove and finished high school at Ransom Everglades in 1986. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Miami in 1990 and went on to receive her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1993. Those formative years set the stage for a career that crosses the courthouse and the mediation table.

Hertz is admitted to practice in Florida and in the Southern District of Florida. She also belongs to the Southern District of Florida Trial Bar. Those credentials are part of a steady professional profile built on courtroom work and dispute resolution.

She is a partner at Hertz Sager, where she has combined litigation and alternative dispute resolution in client matters. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in approach and thorough in preparation. Her work often places her in cases where negotiation and the prospect of settlement are constant elements of the calendar.

Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Marital and Family Mediator, Hertz handles mediations in family law disputes. The certification allows her to serve as a neutral in hearings and settlement conferences. It also informs how she approaches contested matters: she prepares for trial while remaining alert to settlement opportunities that save clients time and expense.

Her professional network includes active memberships in the Florida State Bar, the Coral Gables Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association. She has been part of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators since 2003 and joined the Florida Association of Women Lawyers in 2012. Outside the legal associations, Hertz serves on the board of Temple Beth Am and has been on the Ransom Everglades School Board of Alumni since 1999, roles that reflect long-standing community engagement.

Hertz’s practice draws on both litigation experience and formal mediation training. She works on family law matters and related disputes, managing contested proceedings and offering mediation services to help parties resolve issues without protracted trial. Her current practice centers on family law and mediation.
