Christopher William "Chris" Peterson is the founding attorney of Peterson Law Group, located at 3608 East 29th Street, Suite 112, in Bryan, Texas. Licensed to practice law in Texas since 1996, he has built a reputable practice focusing on various areas of law. His firm handles cases in business law, real estate, wills, trusts, probate, and elder law. Chris earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996. Prior to attending law school, he graduated from Wheaton College in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Biblical & Theological Studies.
His academic background laid a strong foundation for his legal career. During his time in law school, Chris worked by clerking for the Texas Court of Appeals, where he developed his legal research and writing skills. The focus of Chris's practice includes estate planning, which encompasses wills and trusts, as well as probate administration and elder law. He assists clients in drafting legal documents, negotiating agreements, and representing them in court when necessary. Additionally, he handles business law matters, including formation, contracts, and real estate transactions. Before founding Peterson Law Group, Chris worked as an associate attorney at a small firm in College Station, Texas, from 1996 to 1998. He then transitioned to a role as a staff attorney at the Brazos County District Court from 1998 to 2002. In this capacity, he assisted with civil and probate cases, adding to his legal expertise. His experience in both private practice and the judicial system gave him a unique perspective on the law. Active in his community, Chris is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Brazos County Bar Association. He has been recognized for his community involvement, including serving as President of the Bryan School Board and as a Ruling Elder for Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Additionally, he is a Certified Estate Planner® through the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners.
