About Christopher Wayne
Christopher Wayne Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-law from Michigan State University before completing his J.D. at Ave Maria School of Law. He took a conventional path into law school after undergraduate study, and his academic record set the stage for a career centered on consumer bankruptcy work.
Jones began practicing at Acclaim Legal Services in 2004. He joined the firm as a lawyer and has been associated with Acclaim Legal Services for much of his professional life. Over time he moved into handling consumer-oriented bankruptcy matters and related litigation, building a practice that intersects individual debt relief and federal bankruptcy procedures.
He holds board certification as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist from the American Board of Certification. That credential signals additional study and testing in consumer bankruptcy law and serves as a professional marker for peers and clients. Jones has also pursued ongoing education through multiple continuing legal education programs.
He is an active member of several professional organizations. His memberships include the American Bankruptcy Institute (since 2008), the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the Consumer Bankruptcy Association (both since 2008), the Federal Bar (since 2007) and the State Bar of Michigan (since 2005). He has maintained a membership with Legal Shield and with the Institute for Continuing Legal Education since 2010. Jones has participated as a speaker and panelist at CLE events. Notable appearances include presentations for the American Bankruptcy Institute in 2011 and 2012 and multiple roles at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in 2011 and 2012, including a panel slot at the 3rd Annual Consumer Bankruptcy Institute. Those engagements involved practical CLE instruction and panel discussion on issues in consumer bankruptcy practice.
He continues his practice at Acclaim Legal Services, where his work centers on consumer bankruptcy matters. His practice includes client counseling, case preparation and representation in bankruptcy proceedings, and participation in continuing education and professional groups related to consumer insolvency law.
