About Christopher
Christopher Walsh built his legal foundation in two classrooms far from the courthouse. He studied history at Excelsior College before earning a J.D. from Oak Brook College of Law in 2004. Those early academic years shaped the way he examines records and reads testimony. They also set the stage for a career spent largely on the other side of the courtroom — as a prosecutor — before he returned to private practice.
After law school, Walsh began work in county prosecutor offices. He served as a Deputy District Lawyer in Kings County starting in 2005 and moved to a similar role in Fresno County in 2007. He later joined the Santa Clara County office in 2013. Those positions put him in active trial courtrooms and exposed him to a wide range of criminal matters. He then took a step into management when he became an Assistant District Lawyer for Nevada County in 2017.
Walsh transitioned from public service to the private sector in the early 2020s. He spent 2021 as an associate at Mastagni Holstedt, A Professional Corporation, where he handled criminal defense matters and related litigation. In 2022 he became a partner at Walsh Law. The move brought him full circle from prosecutor to private practitioner, and it placed him in a role that combines courtroom work with case strategy and client counseling.
His practical experience is rooted in years of hands-on prosecutorial work. That background informs how he prepares cases and evaluates evidence. It also means he is familiar with the machinery of county courts across different jurisdictions in California. He is admitted to practice in California and maintains memberships in several local and statewide organizations.
Walsh is active in bar and professional groups. He belongs to the Nevada County Bar Association and the Sacramento County Bar Association. He is a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association. Professional recognitions listed in his profile include membership in the National Trial Lawyers Association, named to its Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and a 2023 listing in Lawyers of Distinction for Criminal Defense Law.
Colleagues and clients often point to his courtroom background and steady litigation pace. He approaches cases by reviewing the record, testing witnesses, and mapping out defenses that respond to prosecution strategies. He currently practices at Walsh Law, concentrating on criminal defense and related matters.
